Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2021
On 4 November 2021, Surrey County Council will make a temporary order to prohibit all traffic on foot or any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of:
- Public Bridleway 205 (Shere/Cranleigh) at Winterfold Forest, from the junction with Public Bridleway 224 (Grid ref. 506644 142759) in a northerly direction to the junction with Public Bridleway 207 and

The Order is necessary by reason of danger to the public due to works taking place on and next to the path. It will be in operation from 8 November 2021 until 17 December 2021 or until completion of the works, if earlier, and while the relevant notices are displayed. The Secretary of State for Transport can extend that period if required.
The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.
The alternative route for cyclists and equestrians from the southern end of the closure will be: Proceed in a north-westerly direction along Public Bridleway 224 to the junction with Row Lane. Turn right onto Row Lane and proceed with care in a northerly direction to the junction with Public Bridleway 207. Turn right onto Public Bridleway 207 and proceed in an easterly direction to reach the northern end of the closure. The alternative route for cyclists and equestrians from the northern end of the closure will be the reverse of the route described above.
There is no suggested alternative route for pedestrians.
The 'Surrey County Council Public Bridleways 205 (Shere/Cranleigh) and 205A (Shere/Albury) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2021' will be made by the County Council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
