Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2021
Surrey County Council Public Bridleway No. 57 (Esher) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2021 was made on the grounds of public safety due to works taking place adjacent to the path to upgrade the transformer in the electricity substation.
The Order came into operation on 26 May 2021. It was due to expire on 11 June 2021 but has now been continued in force by the Secretary of State for Transport until 2 July 2021, or until the completion of the works if earlier.
The Order as continued prohibits all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of Bridleway No. 57 (Esher) from its junction with Fairmile Lane (Grid ref: 512001 161098) for a distance of 151m.
The temporary closure will only operate while the County Council, or an authorised person acting on its behalf, displays signs prohibiting the said movements. Access to properties will not be affected.
The alternative route from the north-eastern end of the closure will be to proceed in a south-easterly direction along Fairmile Lane to its junction with Leigh Hill Road. Turn right and proceed in a south-westerly direction along Leigh Hill Road to its junction with Summerhays. Turn right and proceed in a north-westerly direction along Summerhays to its junction with Summerhays Footpath. Turn left and proceed along Summerhays Footpath and continue along Ferndown Gardens in a south-westerly and then north- westerly direction to its junction with Bridleway 57/Hogshill Lane. Turn right onto Bridleway 57/Hogshill Lane and proceed in a north-easterly direction to the south-western end of the closure. The alternative route from the south-western end of the closure will be the reverse of the one described above.
