Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2021

On 20 July 2021 Surrey County Council will make a temporary order to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along Bridleway No. 566 (Wonersh) where it passes under Run Common (Grid ref. 503083 141970).

The Order is necessary due to danger to the public because of work taking place adjacent to and over the path to stabilise the bank that supports the road Run Common. It will be in operation from 21 July 2021 until 20 January 2022 or until completion of the works, if earlier, and while the relevant notices are displayed. The Secretary of State for Transport can extend that period if required.

The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.

The is no alternative route for traffic on horseback or bicycle.

The alternative route for traffic on foot from the north western end of the closure will be to proceed in a north westerly direction along Bridleway 566 to its junction with Bridleway 330. Turn right and proceed in a north easterly direction along Bridleway 330 to its junction with Bridleway 330a. Turn right and proceed in a generally easterly direction along Bridleway 330a to its junction with Footpath 321. Turn right and proceed in a generally southerly direction along Footpath 321 to its junction with Run Common. Cross Run Common and then proceed in a generally southerly direction along Footpath 323 to its junction with Bridleway 566. Turn right onto Bridleway 566 and proceed in a north westerly direction to the south eastern end of the closure. The alternative route from the south eastern end of the closure will be the reverse of the one described above.

The 'Surrey County Council Public Bridleway No. 566 (Wonersh) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2021' will be made by Surrey County Council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
