Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2020

On 22 July 2020 Surrey County Council made the above temporary closure order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along the bridleway from its junction with Hydon Heath and Public Bridleway 166 and 189 Hambledon. This is shown as a solid red line between points A – B on the closure plan.

The Order is necessary on the grounds of public safety due to the unsafe condition of the bridleway caused by badger setts. The closure is in operation from 30 July for 6 months or until completion of the works, if earlier. The Secretary of State for Transport can extend that period if required.

The prohibition described above will only be operative while the County Council, or an authorised person acting on its behalf, displays signs prohibiting the said movements.

There is no alternative route.

The Surrey County Council Public Bridleway 184 (Hambledon) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2020 was made by the County Council under Section 14(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
