Managing the countryside
Coronavirus: countryside car parks update 2021
We have reopened car parks at all of our countryside sites, in line with the latest government guidance.
Residents and visitors can park for free, as car parking charges were removed on 1 April 2020. A voluntary donation scheme will be introduced at some point in the future.
It is important, however, that residents and visitors still follow government advice for the countryside area you are visiting and that you continue to maintain social distancing. Please see the local COVID-19 alert levels advice on Gov.uk website.
Residents with any concerns whilst on site can contact Surrey Police.
The cafes and toilets are now open at Ockham Common. The owners of the café at Newlands Corner have made the decision to close for the foreseeable future due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation. The toilets will remain open during the day, however the closing time at the end of the day may vary. We do apologise for any inconvenience.
Please note that Surrey Police will temporarily shut countryside car parks if they consider they are too busy for safe visitor numbers during the current lockdown (this happened at Newlands Corner in early January).
