We have been working with Simplyhealth to offer you special reduced rates on a voluntary health cash plan benefit, the Simply Cash Plan.

Am I eligible?

The scheme is open to all staff working for Surrey County Council.
This also includes members and employees who work in Foundation/Academy schools whose governing body has agreed to join the MyBenefits scheme.

When can I apply?

You can apply at any time throughout the scheme year and cover commences from the first of the month.

How do I apply?

To apply, phone Simplyhealth (telephone number: 0330 102 5325).

If you currently have a Simply Cash Plan and wish to alter your plan by adding your partner or opting for a different level, contact Simplyhealth (telephone number: 0330 102 5325).

How do I cancel this benefit?

If you wish to cancel this plan, you will need to inform Simplyhealth on 0800 731 3486 and contact the My Helpdesk HR (if paying by pay deductions).

What happens if I leave the council?

Your cover will cease at the end of the month you leave.

If you wish to continue to receive cover through Simplyhealth please contact them on 0800 731 3486.

If you were paying by pay deductions and are retiring from the council, your Simplyhealth deductions can continue via your pension scheme, you will need to contact Simplyhealth on 0800 731 3486 with your pension payroll number.

How does the scheme work?

The Simply Cash Plan gives money back on three important areas of everyday health, up to annual limits:

  • Check-ups, such as hygienist visits, dental checks and sight tests
  • Treatment, such as fillings, new glasses and physiotherapy
  • Emergencies, if you need to stay in hospital

You also have the option to add your partner at an additional cost. Up to four children living at home with you under the age of 18 are covered for free.

Optical – includes sight tests, prescription glasses, contact lenses and prescription sunglasses up to annual limits

Dental – claim for check-ups, scale, polish and treatment up to annual limits

Complementary therapies – includes physiotherapy, chiropractic, osteopathy, acupuncture and homeopathy up to annual limits

Some additional benefits available include cash for time spent in hospital, consultations, health screening and get a cash payment if you have a new child up to annual limits.

NB: There is a 12 month qualifying period for New Child payment and pre-existing conditions are not covered under hospital cover for the first 12 months.

Payments

Payment is monthly by Direct Debit. The monthly rates can be found on the Simplyhealth brochure.

Claims are paid straight into your bank account usually within a few days.
