Lead Instructor Live Fire Watch Commander B

£35275 - £38611 per annum (plus Surrey Allowance £1,354) for 42 hours per week at Surrey Fire and Rescue Service.

This role is subject to a 10% day work enhancement.

A standard DBS 'Disclosure and Barring Service' check for regulated activity (formerly known as CRB) is required for this role.

Flexible working is supported, laptop and mobile supplied. 33 days and 3 long service days annual leave, Firefighters pension scheme. Travel across sites would be required.

About the role

We are looking to recruit a lead instructor for Live Fire Training.

We will accept applications from competent Watch Commanders. These include Whole time, on-call and fixed term contracts

Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocation Achievement.

Level 3 Award in Education and Training

Level 3 Award in Foundation Incident Command

A Level 3 Qualification in Leadership and Management

IOSH Managing Safely

  • Participate in and pass the core technical and professional development programmes

A valid driving licence that enables you to drive in the UK or the ability to learn if required

Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience in managing and delivering live fire training

  • An experienced level 1 incident commander within the Fire and Rescue Service.

  • Understanding of the variety of different learning needs and preferences that affect the way students learn.
  • To have worked within a team environment to achieve objectives of the organisation
  • Experience of providing a customer focused service
  • Experience of having managed problems, and effective decision making ability.
