Contract Management Advisory Service recruitment

Lee Redmond, Head of the Contract and Advisory ServiceA welcome note from Lee Redmond, Head of Contract and Commercial Advisory

Surrey County Council spends over £750m a year through commercial contracts, many of which are managed by personnel who have contract management as an additional responsibility to their primary function. As evidenced by research undertaken by the World Commerce and Contracting Association, it is widely accepted that poorly managed contracts can result in value leakage of up to 9.2% as well as incurring additional avoidable costs and delivering sub-standard outcomes.

Surrey County Council is embarking on a major new initiative and is assembling an experienced team of contract management professionals to help shape how contract management is delivered across the authority. This will be delivered through a new Contract Management Advisory Service, the objective of which is to: "Ensure service contracts are delivered efficiently, achieve the intended outcomes and add value over time to improve outcomes for residents."

This will be achieved through providing:

  • Strategic contract management support promoting best practice
  • Skills analysis with active training and development
  • Reporting dashboards and management information
  • Benefits tracking
  • Supporting the turnaround of contracts in distress

Do you have contract or account management experience? Are you looking for a new and challenging opportunity?
