Surrey County Council's customers and communities directorate includes all 54 of Surrey's libraries, performing arts services and our heritage department.
Developing and co-ordinating a wide range of performance and visual arts opportunities for young people and adults, Surrey Arts offers instrument and voice tuition and supports musical, dance and drama groups throughout the county.
Our libraries offer much more than being somewhere to borrow a book, film or music. They also provide a range of other public services, including under 5s' story time groups, teens' homework resources and a variety of social events.
Surrey Heritage brings together Surrey County Council's expertise in caring for and promoting our county's rich past, all in one service. As well as encouraging visitors to our museums, Surrey Heritage is a valuable source of information and advice for residents on a wide variety of historical and archaeological subjects – from historic buildings and documents to monuments, artefacts and ancestry.
Our award winning Contact Centre is based in Kingston and acts as the front door for the majority of council services, including libraries, registrations, highways, education and adult social care. It provides an essential service for all Surrey residents who need to contact the council for information and advice.
So, as you'll see, Surrey County Council provides a wide variety of community focussed services – creating a variety of interesting and rewarding roles with many benefits. You can meet some of our people to find out why they enjoy working with us.
