Competitive pay

Quality social work starts with great social workers. That's why we've reviewed our pay and reward package to give you more than ever for the job you do.

Our pay is competitive, and we reward your hard work. For full salary information for individual roles, search our job vacancies.

The following salaries are per annum for 2019/20, based on working 36 hours per week (pro rata if part time):

  • Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE): £32,251
  • Social Worker: £34,688 - £38,476
  • Senior Social Worker: £39,438 - £43,744
  • Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP): £39,438 - £43,744 (+AMHP supplement £1,500 per annum)
  • Assistant Team Managers: £44,838 -£50,711
  • Team Managers: £51,979 - £58,788

Help with the costs of relocating

We offer relocation assistance of up to £8,000, to help you move nearer to your new place of work (subject to eligibility).

This covers specific removal and relocation costs, which can include removals; lodging or travelling allowance; disconnecting and reconnecting utilities; and certain professional fees (e.g. estate agents and solicitors).

The Local Government Pension

We offer membership to the Local Government Pension Scheme. Contributions range from 5.5% to 12.5% of pensionable pay based on earnings.

Annual leave

Surrey employees receive 24 days annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing to 28 days after five years' service (pro-rata if part time).

We also give you the option of working on-site with your team, at home, or hot-desking at another location; subject to agreement from your line-manager .
