Our work to manage Surrey's countryside

Find out more about our work to manage Surrey's countryside!

Surrey County Council works in partnership to provide public access, safeguard the countryside estate, manage the Basingstoke Canal and different types of habitats by our countryside management partnerships spread across the county.

Surrey has almost 3448 kilometres of public paths and we are responsible for the management and maintenance of this network. Over 10,000 acres of our countryside is available for your enjoyment through the County Council's land ownership or access agreements with private landowners.

If you come across fly tipping when you're out in the countryside, please report fly tipping to your district or borough.
