Conversion of part of Public Footpaths No. 21 and No. 22 Walton and Weybridge into Cycle Track Order 2020

On 1 February 2022 the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs confirmed the above Order made under 3(1) section of the Cycle Tracks Act 1984.

The effect of the Order as confirmed is to convert to Cycle Track part of the width of Public Footpath No.21 Walton & Weybridge from Church Street (Grid Ref 507168 164771) to the path's junction with Public Footpath No. 22 Walton & Weybridge (Grid Ref 507475 164526) at a width of 1.75 metres and Public Footpath No. 22 Walton & Weybridge which extends from Springfield Meadows (Grid Ref 507530 164645) to Melrose Road (Grid Ref 507423 164440) at a width of 2.0 metres.

Further information regarding the purpose of this Order, which is necessary to fulfil the aims of the Brooklands Business Park Accessibility Project, specifically through the creation of a cycling/walking route between the Brooklands Business Park and Weybridge town centre, can also be found on the Elmbridge major transport schemes page.

The Order comes into force on 25 February 2022 but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity or that of any provision contained in it on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Cycle Tracks Act 1984 or on the ground that any requirement of the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order he or she may under s.3(6) to the Act within six weeks from 25 February 2022 make an application to the High Court
