Public Footpath 305 (Wonersh)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
On 23 July 2026 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of Public Footpath 305 (Wonersh) which extends in a north-easterly direction for 305 metres from point A at Grid ref: 502564 145427 to point B at Grid ref: 502629 145723, and which is marked by a solid bold line on plan no. 3/1/17/H31.
The order is necessary on the grounds of public safety due to construction traffic on the highway. The closure will be in operation for a period of six months from 24 July 2026 or until completion of the works, if earlier. That period can be extended by the Secretary of State for Transport if required.
The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the county council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.
The alternative route for traffic from the southern end of closure will be:
From point A, Grid ref: 502564 145427, head north-east, then north-west, then again north-east along a temporary path marked on the ground until you reach point B, Grid ref: 502629 145723. Total length of alternative route: 380 metres.
The alternative route for traffic from the northern end of the closure will be the reverse of the route described above.
“The Surrey County Council Public Footpath 305 (Wonersh) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026” was made by the county council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
