Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
On 15 October 2026 Surrey County Council will make the above-mentioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along Public Footpath 21 (Farnham) from point A (Grid reference: 484081 145890) to point B (Grid reference: 483981 145830). The Order is necessary in the interest of public safety due to works being undertaken on or near the highway. The closure will be in operation for a period of 1 month from 19 October 2026 or until completion of the works, if earlier. That period can be extended by the Secretary of State for Transport if required.
The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.
The alternative route for traffic from point A (Grid reference: 484081 145890) will be to head west on Searle Road for 235 metres, then head north on Firgrove Hill (A287) for 212 metres. Then head South West on Arthur Road for 326 metres, then head south on Weydon Hill Road for 233 metres to point B (Grid reference: 483981 145830).
The Public Footpath 21 (Farnham) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order will be made by the County Council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
