Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
The Surrey County Council Public Footpath 119 (Godstone) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025 was made on the grounds of public safety due to works being undertaken on or near the highway. The Order came into operation on 10 November 2025. It was due to expire on 10 May 2026 but has now been continued in force by the Secretary of State for Transport for 12 months until 10 May 2027 or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier.
The Order as continued prohibits all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding in that length of Public Footpath 119 (Godstone) from point A (Grid reference: 535032 152492) to point B (Grid reference: 534781 152740) shown as a black bold line on plan reference: 3/1/26/H40.
The prohibition described above will only be operative while the County Council, or an authorised person acting on its behalf, displays signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002 (S.I. 2002 No. 3113) prohibiting the said movements. Access to properties will not be affected.
The alternative route for traffic from point A will be to head south on the B2235 for 313 metres, then continue south on the A25 for 392 metres before following the A25 south west for 119 metres to Public Footpath 122 (Bletchingley). Then head north west for 903 metres on Public Footpath 122 (Bletchingley) and Public Footpath 122 (Bletchingley), continue North on North Park Lane for 65 metres. Then follow Public Footpath 121 (Bletchingley) and Public Footpath 121 (Godstone) for 633 metres, then continue East for 82 metres to point B.
