Public Byway Open to All Traffic 511 (Shere/Albury)/ Ponds Lane D224
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 10 August 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit any motorised vehicle with 4 or more wheels from entering or proceeding along that length of Public Byway open to All Traffic 511 (Shere/Albury)/ Ponds Lane (D224) from the junction with Parklands, Shere (Grid reference: 506931, 146677) in a southerly direction to the junction with Public Footpath 211 (Albury).
This section of Public Byway Open to Traffic 511/Ponds Lane will remain fully open for use by traffic on foot, horseback, bicycle, motorcycle, and horse drawn vehicles.
Access to properties will not be affected.
The Order is necessary on the grounds of public safety due to a weak culvert. The closure will be in operation from 16 August 2023 for a period of three months. That period can be extended by the Secretary of State for Transport if required.
There is no suggested alternative route for motorised vehicles with 4 or more wheels.
