Public Bridleway 44 (Egham)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2022
On 24 February 2022, Surrey County Council will make the above-mentioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of Public Bridleway 44 (Egham)/Hollow Lane where it crosses the railway line at Stroude level crossing (Grid Ref: 500209, 168783) approximately 200m to the west of Stroude Road, Virginia Water.
The Order is necessary on the grounds of public safety due to essential works to the level crossing, taking place on or near the bridleway. The closure will be in operation from 26 February 2022 for a period of 2 months, or until completion of the works, if earlier. That period can be extended by the Secretary of State for Transport if required.
The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.
There is no suggested alternative route.
The Surrey County Council Public Bridleway 44 (Egham) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2022 will be made by the County Council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
