Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic Order 2022
The Surrey County Council Public Bridleway 261 (Bramley) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2022 was made on the grounds of public safety due to construction work taking place on or near the public footpath.
The Order came into operation on 23 May 2022 and was due to expire on 23 November 2022. It has now been continued in force by the Secretary of State for Transport until 23 November 2023, or completion of the works, whichever is earlier.
The Order as continued will have the effect of prohibiting all traffic on foot or by any other means entering or proceeding along the length of Public Bridleway 261 (Bramley) where it crosses the Wey and Arun Canal (Grid Ref: 501815, 143567).
The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.
The alternative route for traffic will be via a temporary bridge, located approximately 10 metres to the south of Public Bridleway 261.
