Footpath 7 (Wisley)

The Surrey County Council
Public Footpath 7 (Wisley)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2017
Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 14(1)

On 7 April 2017, Surrey County Council made the above temporary closure order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of Public Footpath number 7 (Wisley) which extends from a point north of Aberconway House, RHS Garden Wisley in a southerly direction for approximately 160 metres and from a point south of the car park in a west, north-westerly direction for approximately 100 metres.

The Order is necessary on the grounds of public safety due to construction works at the RHS Garden, Wisley. The closure has been in operation since 7 April 2017 and was due to expire on 31 December 2022. The Secretary of State for Transport has now extended that period until 31 December 2023 or until completion of the works, whichever is earlier.

The prohibition described above will only be operative while the County Council, or an authorised person acting on its behalf, displays signs prohibiting the said movements. Access to properties will not be affected.

An alternative route around the closure will be available and indicated on site.
