Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 11 May 2023 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along the length of Public Footpath 51 (Esher) from the junction with Stoke Road (A245), Stoke D'Abernon (Grid ref: 512934, 158750) in a north-easterly direction to the junction with Public Bridleway 49.
The Order is necessary on the grounds of public safety due to an unsafe bridge. The closure will be in operation from 16 May 2023 for a period of 3 months. That period can be extended by the Secretary of State for Transport if required.
The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.
There is no suggested alternative route.
The Surrey County Council Public Footpath 51 (Esher) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023 was made by the County Council under Section 14(1)and(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
