Public Footpath 43 (Chertsey)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
On 17 September 2026 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of Public Footpath 43 (Chertsey) which extends from point A at its junction with Lynne Lane (Grid ref: 501388 167644) to point B at its junction with St. Ann’s Hill and which is marked by a solid bold line on plan no. 3/1/87/H44.
The order is necessary on the grounds of public safety due to a burst sewer main.
The closure will be in operation for a period of six months from 24 September 2026 or until completion of the works, if earlier. That period can be extended by the Secretary of State for Transport if required.
The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the county council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.
There is no recommended alternative route
