Public Footpaths 63, 74, 75 and 80 (Egham) and

Public Footpaths 174 and 175 (Chobham)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023

On 5 September 2023 Surrey County Council will make the above mentioned Temporary Order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along the length of: Public Footpath 63 (Egham)/West Drive from London Road (A30) to Bourneside, Public Footpath 74 (Egham) from Public Footpath 174 (Chobham) to Public Footpath 63 (Egham), Public Footpath 75 (Egham) from Public Footpath 74 (Egham) to Public Footpath 175 (Chobham), Public Footpath 80 (Egham) from the County boundary to Public Footpath 174 (Chobham), Public Footpath 174 (Chobham) from Public Footpath 80 (Egham) to Public Footpath 74 (Egham), and Public Footpath 175 (Chobham) from its southern end to Public Footpath 75 (Egham).

The Order is required on the grounds of safety and security during the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth Club. It will be in operation from 6am on Sunday 10 September 2023 until 8pm on Monday 18 September 2023. That period can be extended by the Secretary of State for Transport if required. The event is scheduled to finish on Sunday 17 September 2023. However, if play is delayed for any reason (for example, bad weather), it could possibly continue onto Monday 18 September 2023.

The prohibition described above shall not apply to emergency service vehicles in an emergency. The prohibition described above will only be operative while the County Council, or an authorised person acting on its behalf, displays traffic signs prohibiting the said movements. Access to properties will not be affected.

There will be no alternative routes.

The 'The Surrey County Council Public Footpaths 63, 74, 75 and 80 (Egham) and Public Footpaths 174 and 175 (Chobham) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023' will be made by the County Council under Section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
