Temporary Prohibition Of Traffic Order 2021

The Surrey County Council Public Footpath 87 (Egham) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2021 was made on the grounds of public safety due to construction work taking place on or near the footpath. The Order came into operation on 20 September 2021. It was due to expire on 31 May 2022 but has now been continued in force by the Secretary of State for Transport until 31 August 2022 or until the completion of the works, whichever is earlier.

The Order as continued prohibits all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding in that length of Public Footpath 87 (Egham) between Station Road (Grid Ref: 501033, 171161) and Stoneylands Court.

The prohibition described above will only be operative while the County Council, or an authorised person acting on its behalf, displays signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2002 (S.I. 2002 No. 3113) prohibiting the said movements. Access to properties will not be affected.

The alternative route from the eastern end of the closure will be: Proceed in a northerly direction along Station Road to the junction with Church Road. Turn left onto Church Road and proceed in a north-westerly direction along Church Road to the junction with Grange Road. Turn left onto Grange Road and proceed in a westerly direction to the junction with Stoneylands Road. Turn left onto Stoneylands Road and proceed in a southerly direction to the junction with Stoneylands Court. Turn left onto Stoneylands Court and proceed in an easterly direction to reach the western end of the closure. The alternative route for traffic from the western end of the closure will be the reverse of the route described above.
