Public Footpath 211 (Limpsfield)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026
On 26 March 2026 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of Public Footpath 211 (Limpsfield) which extends for 555 metres north-east from point A at its junction with Public Footpath 211a (Limpsfield), Grid reference: 542050 149023, to point B, Grid reference: 542431 149347, and which is marked by a solid bold line on plan no. 3/1/28/H50.
The order is necessary for public safety due to Network Rail carrying out essential works near the highway. The closure will be in operation for a period of six months from 30 March 2026 or until completion of the works, if earlier. That period can be extended by the Secretary of State for Transport if required.
The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the county council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.
The alternative route for traffic from point A at the western end of closure will be: head south along Public Footpath 211a (Limpsfield), north-east along Monks Lane, north-west along Guildables Lane to point B, total length of 1400 metres.
The alternative route for traffic from point B at the eastern end of the closure will be the reverse of the route described above.
“The Surrey County Council Public Footpath 211 (Limpsfield) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2026” was made by the county council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
