Purpose / function of the service

This privacy notice applies to the functions of the Buckinghamshire and Surrey Trading Standards service for the purposes of providing you with a free Truecall call-blocking device to stop unwanted and scam phone calls.

What processing of personal data is undertaken by the specific teams or services

Personal data is collated from the Truecall call-blocking device. Buckinghamshire and Surrey Trading Standards Service may use this data for the purposes of protecting the vital interests of the data subject.

What information do we collect?

  • Name
  • Address
  • Phone Number
  • Name and phone numbers of trusted callers.

How we are allowed to use your personal data

Legal obligation or public task under the Local Government Act.

Consent

To receive a Truecall call-blocking device you will have consented for us to process your personal data. We will explain to you what we are asking you to agree to and why. If we have consent to use your personal data, you have the right to remove it at any time. If you want to remove your consent, please contact us at the following email address gina.green@surreycc.gov.uk and we will deal with your request.

Who we share your personal data with

Only officers from the Trading Standards Service will have access to information that can identify you. The online report that Trading Standards and Truecall have access to only identifies the serial number of the device, your personal information does not appear in the online report.

Automated decision making (when computers make any decisions about you)

No automated decision making will take place.

Personal data being sent or processed outside of the UK and EU

Your personal data will not be processed outside of the UK and EU

Retention of data

Data will be retained for as long as consent remains valid.
