The reasons why we use your personal data

This privacy notice applies to online and in-person parent/carer information sessions provided by the statutory Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) service within Children, Families and Lifelong Learning (CFLL) Directorate.

Feedback is gathered from parent/carers following the information sessions to:

  • inform service improvement
  • evidence impact
  • promote the information sessions

Parent/carers can choose to provide their contact details if they would like future contact.

What processing of personal data is undertaken by the service?

Your personal data is collated for the purposes of improving and raising awareness of our services. In addition, we collect your personal data for the following: reporting and planning

Responses to feedback questions.

Optionally provided by the family: name, email, phone number

How we are allowed to use your personal data

Consent

To process your personal data, we will explain to you what we are asking you to agree to and why. If we have consent to use your personal data, you have the right to remove it at any time. If you want to remove your consent, please contact us at the following email address EHCNAteam@surreycc.gov.uk and we will deal with your request.

Who we share your personal data with

Anonymised data (for example number of attendees coming to sessions, quoting feedback) will be reported across the Additional Needs and Disabilities (AND) Partnership, to Department for Education (DFE), NHS England and used promotionally including on the Local Offer and social media.

Personal data (name, email address) will only be used within the Statutory SEND Service and associated partners including health, education and social carer in order to deliver our services to the family.

Retention of data

Data will be retained in accordance with SCC countywide data retention schedule
