The Limpsfield Way walk and Family cycle route - case study summary
The Limpsfield Way is a circular walk from Limpsfield Chart to Limpsfield which is just over four miles long. As well as exploring both villages, the route goes through greensand, woodland and open countryside with views of the North Downs and across to west Surrey.
Your Fund Surrey granted £44,000 towards this project which went towards installing information boards, waymark discs, hard copy maps, children's natural play equipment and activities and paths suitable for disabled access. A destination ‘rest and play’ area within a green space in Happy Valley, Limpsfield Common was also created with benches and simple natural wooden play equipment for children.
Impact since funding
Since completion, the footpath and cycleway have been enjoyed by a wide range of residents and visitors. The rest and play area are especially popular with children, encouraging families to spend longer in the area. Accessibility has been prioritised, with step‑free access and a picnic table designed to comfortably accommodate wheelchair users.
