Every Sunday in February: Snowdrop Day, Gatton Park

These aren't the usual snowdrops we usually think of these snowdrops are 'Heralds of spring' a sure sign that warmer weather is coming. The parks and gardens will be open from 12 to 5pm. Visit the Gatton Park website for more information.


Saturday 11 to Sunday 19 February: Half term at Polesden Lacey, Great Bookham

Enjoy the swings, tunnels and giant nests as you embrace your inner animal and get closer to nature. Inside, there will be a fun bug trail. For more information visit the Polesden Lacey National Trust web page.


Saturday 11 February: Kelly's Guildford ten km and five km run, Guildford

Organised in partnership with the University of Surrey Students' Union, this is a hugely popular event and one not to miss. The route provides an opportunity to enjoy the University campus, run beside the River Wey and pass through some of Guildford's iconic landmarks. Monday 13 February: Forest Fun, Gatton Park

Get exploring this half term and join the team in the Forest School area and search for Cedar Wood, make woodland crafts and enjoy a snack around the fire. Book a spot for your kids aged two to seven on the Gatton Park Forest Fun event web page.


Monday 13 to Wednesday 15 February: Guildford RFC Rugby Camp, Godalming

Tuesday 14 February: Street Dance Classes, Gatton Park

Unlock your child's imagination and creativity this half term through an introduction into the world of dance. Classes will be taught by Tanya Greenwood. Wednesday 15 and 17 February: Trails and Tales Superworm, Gatton Park

Superworm is the bestselling picture book by Julia Donaldson and in this session your little ones can listen to the story with a craft activity, then explore a trail around the garden. Thursday 16 February: Ballet Dance Classes, Gatton Park

Thursday 16 February: Wild Rangers Conservation Club, Leatherhead

This is a club for 11 to 17 year olds where they can head outdoors, learn a little something, and make some friends. They will take part in a range of activities to connect with and help nature, with opportunities to learn some practical conservation skills! Saturday 18 February: Guided walks of Guildford, Guildford

Surrey's ancient capital, situated on the banks of the River Wey, has a history stretching back over 1000 years. Starting at Tunsgate Arch, this half mile walk in the town centre will take you past some of the most interesting buildings. For more information visit the Guildford Walks web page.


Sunday 19 February: Run Reigate Trail Run and Canicross, Gatton Park

Run Reigate is back with an exciting five km and ten km multi-terrain loop through Gatton Park's beautiful parkland. And better yet, this year there are two events, trail runners and canicross. Get fit in gorgeous surroundings. Head to the Run Series website to book your spot.

Visiting Surrey's countryside

We own more than 6,500 acres of Surrey's wonderful countryside available for you to explore and enjoy whatever the time of year. We also have access agreements with private landowners to provide public access to a total of over 10,000 acres. We call this Surrey's Countryside Estate. Every Saturday and Sunday, Parkrun, locations across Surrey

Parkruns are free, weekly, community events all around the world. Saturday morning events are five km and take place in parks and open spaces. On Sunday mornings, there are two km junior parkruns for children aged four to 14. Find your nearest parkrun using the parkrun events map website.


Every first Friday of the month: Wellbeing walk, Runnymede

All weathers, all welcome! No need to book, simply just join for a relaxing walk and a chat. There are two walks which alternate each month, walk two is on 7 October:

Walk 1: Easy 20 minutes round trip walk. Meet at 2pm at the Gogmore Farm Park car park area, Curfew Bell Road, Chertsey, KT16 9JW. This route is wheelchair accessible.

Walk 2: Intermediate one hour walk. Meet at 2pm outside the Castle Inn, Brox Road, Ottershaw, KT16 0LW.

Various dates on a Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday: free healthy family programme, via Zoom

Do you need help to achieve a healthy weight for your child? Be Your Best is a free service for Surrey families with children aged 0 to 12 who are above the healthy weight range.

Families will be offered six one-to-one sessions and 6 online group sessions which include live cooking workshops, meal planning for the whole family, managing screen time and tips to reduce anxiety.

Group sessions can take place on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 4pm to 5.30pm via Zoom and the family fit sessions take place on Saturdays 10am to 10.40am via Zoom.
