The nominations are in!
After the 12-week nomination window, we saw a total of 464 nominations, and are now one step closer to second Surrey-wide recognition awards, Stars in Surrey.
Firstly, we'd like to say a big congratulations to everyone who has been nominated and we wish you the best of luck in the next stage. We'd also like to thank those who have taken the time to nominate themselves, colleagues, or a team.
What happens next?
There will be a panel of three judges for each award category, and they will whittle down the nominations to a shortlist of three finalists for each award. The three finalists will then be invited to attend our awards ceremony, which will take place at G Live in Guildford on Tuesday 5 December.
Once all the judging panels have made their decisions, we will be in touch again to let nominees know if they have made the shortlist.
What are the judges looking for?
All nominations will be judged based on how the person, team or project has:
- Improved the local community or made a difference at the council
- Embodied our values outlined in The Surrey Way
- Positively affected people living and working in Surrey
- Inspired others to undertake positive action
Until then, nominees should keep their eyes peeled as they may receive an email letting them know that they have been shortlisted as a lucky finalist.
