Surrey Fire and Rescue Service proudly welcomed 10 new firefighters during a pass out parade on Sunday (22 June).

The ceremony marked almost 16 weeks of training for the new team members, and the beginning of their service to the community.

The new full-time firefighters' families were invited to celebrate with them on the day and witness their passing out parade, held at Wray Park, Reigate, where they demonstrated the skills they learned and developed during their course.

Speaking of the event, Dan Quin, Chief Fire Officer, said: “A huge congratulations to our newest colleagues. I’m absolutely delighted to welcome them into our service at their pass out parade.

“They’ve shown great resilience, professionalism and teamwork throughout their training. Completing these courses is no small achievement, and they’ve all demonstrated the qualities we value most – courage, compassion and a real commitment to keeping our communities safe.

“I’d also like to thank their family and friends for their support along the way, as well as our Learning and Development team for the dedication and guidance they’ve given throughout.”

The group will be joining crews at our fire stations in Banstead, Camberley, Dorking, Epsom, Esher, Fordbridge, Guildford, Haslemere, and Walton, supporting across Surrey.

Please join us in welcoming our newest firefighters. We wish them every success as they begin their careers serving the communities of Surrey.
