Help look after those closest to you
Do you care for someone, pop in from time to time or help them take care of themselves? Consider referring them for a free Safe and Well Visit with Surrey Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS). The visit provides tailored fire safety advice in people’s homes and where needed, the service will fit essential safety equipment for free too.
Everyone has someone who relies on them, a parent, grandparent, neighbour, or even a customer you see through work. The “You’re Their Person” campaign is all about recognising that you can make a real difference in someone’s life. By arranging a Safe and Well Visit for your person, you could help them stay safe and independent at home.
In a Safe and Well Visit, SFRS will visit the home, have a friendly chat, and assess any potential fire hazards. They’ll offer practical advice tailored to the person's specific needs. If necessary, they can also provide free safety equipment such as:
- Smoke and carbon monoxide alarms
- Fire-retardant throws and bedding
- Electric blankets
- Thermal socks
- Hard of hearing alarms
- Fuel vouchers
One Surrey resident shared their experience after their mother received a visit: “It was phenomenal. The team had the perfect tone and were so patient. They made my mum feel completely at ease and explained everything clearly.”
Booking a Safe and Well visit is easy and could make all the difference.
