What you can do
Report it
When you are able to, you should report flooding to us so we can investigate it. Particularly road gullies and drains before rains or storms occur so that additional highway maintenance can be undertaken. You can report flooding online or by calling 0300 200 1003.
Heavy rain and freezing temperatures can cause road surfaces to crack, and more potholes to form. Watch the video below to learn more about why this happens.
Our highways teams have been busy responding to reports of potholes, and we encourage residents to continue to report them on our website FixMyStreet.
Check the risk to your home
The Environment Agency provide flood risk information and encourage you to check their home's flood risk or calling the Floodline (24 hour service) on 0345 988 1188. There is also the opportunity to register for flood alerts and warnings.
The latest information on flooding can be found on the check for flooding website. You can also sign up to receive flood warnings.
