Book a bus for when you need it
Surrey connect is an on-demand bus service operating across the county and has recently expanded to Elmbridge. It’s available where there are no traditional bus services operating, helping you utilise public transport around Elmbridge and into Mole Valley.
How it works
The service uses minibuses, with journeys being booked on a first come first served basis. All journeys must be booked at least 30 minutes before travel or up to seven days in advance.
You can make your booking with a ‘leave at’ time or if you need to be somewhere for a specific time, for example to catch a train or be at a medical appointment, you can book with an ‘arrive at’ time.
Journeys can be booked:
- Online at the Surrey connect website
- Via the ‘Surrey connect’ app – available from Google Play (Android) or the App Store (Apple)

Where you can travel
The well-used and popular service is already operating in other areas of the county including Tandridge, Farnham, Cranleigh, West Guildford, Longcross, Runnymede, Haslemere, Mole Valley and Reigate, to help residents travel sustainably. In 2025 alone, over 97,000 passenger journeys were made using Surrey connect.
Surrey connect is not available if a current local bus route can be used for the same journey. If there is not a bus stop within walking distance to you or at your destination, please contact us via surreyconnect@surreycc.gov.uk and we will arrange for a virtual bus stop to be created. All virtual bus stops will need to be safe and accessible for passengers and other road users.
