Library Hubs bringing services together under one roof
The Woking Library Hub will bring together library services, registration appointments and community spaces in the centre of Woking.
The Library Hub is part of our investment in community facilities, creating a shared community space where residents can access services, take part in activities, meet others and find support.
By creating flexible, shared spaces, we are improving access to public services and ensuring community buildings continue to meet residents' needs now and in the future. Registration Services will be co-located within the Library Hub.

Library services
Libraries play an important role in local communities, providing cultural, social, educational and economic opportunities. They are places where people can meet, work, study, learn and relax.
Since the refurbishment completed in 2024, Woking library includes improved spaces for customers and continues to offer:
- Books, e-books and audiobooks
- Events and activities for all ages
- Public computers, printing and scanning facilities
- Free Wi-Fi
- Room hire opportunities

Registration services
Registration services will be introduced at the Woking Library Hub. This means residents will be able to register births and deaths in a convenient town centre location, as well as give notice of marriage and civil partnerships.
Having registration services in the same building as the library will make accessing these services simpler and more convenient for residents. Find out more about registration services.
Community activity areas and registration rooms
The previous refurbishment completed in 2024 has enhanced the library's facilities, creating flexible spaces for residents, community groups and local organisations.
Facilities includes:
- A vibrant children's library designed to inspire a lifelong love of reading
- Public toilets including an accessible toilet with baby changing facilities
- Upgraded furniture and shelving
- Refreshed and flexible spaces for community use
- Improved accessibility and inclusive design throughout the building
These improvements help ensure the Library Hub is a welcoming and accessible space that supports learning, connection and community life in the heart of Woking.
What’s happening and when
The upcoming works will include the creation of two appointment rooms and a dedicated storage room for registration services. Work is due to begin on Monday 28 September and is scheduled to be completed by Monday 2 November.
There will be minimal impact on the library layout. The design and layout of the new space has been designed so that no book stock or study areas will be lost. While the work is taking place, there may be some noise disruption, and we apologise for any inconvenience.
Super Access will also be unavailable during these works. Super Access remains available at other libraries, including Farnham and Godalming. Find out more about Super Access.
We'll keep this page updated with progress and let you know about any temporary changes to services. We look forward to completing these improvements and welcoming you back to enjoy the new space.
