Surrey Fire and Rescue Service works with the Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS) and the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) to raise awareness about water safety in Surrey.
What our partnership work includes
Supporting borough and district councils
We provide RNLI and RLSS information that helps borough and district councils to identify and consider steps to reduce the risk of emergencies in and around water, whilst allowing members of the public to enjoy Surrey's countryside.
Educating the general public
We provide accredited information and hold joint events to raise awareness abut cold water shock, general water safety precautions and how to deal with an emergency.
Delivering water safety education within Surrey schools
Both RNLI and RLSS are leaders in water safety education for schools. Surrey Fire and Rescue Service has been working with both partners to develop lesson plans that are being delivered by teachers in some Surrey schools as part of the school curriculum.
Our guidance
Our water safety information provides advice about staying safe in and around water.
