You don't necessarily need to have particular qualifications or to have studied certain courses to work in a green job, partly as there is such a wide range of roles available.

Research shows that certain subject areas have a stronger link to the green jobs available in Surrey:

  • Business
  • Science
  • Construction, including architecture and urban planning
  • Engineering
  • IT

General transferable skills are also particularly important for companies looking to recruit into green jobs, especially:

  • Communications
  • People and project management
  • Planning
