For parents, carers and youth leaders
You play a vital role in helping young people discover their voice.
Surrey Youth Voice offers a range of opportunities for young people to:
- get involved
- build confidence, and
- make a difference in their communities
Encourage the young people you support to explore what’s available.
If you are a parent or carer, you may want to understand more about groups and activities available. Our groups offer a safe space for young people to:
- connect
- share experiences, and
- influence the services that support them
For teachers and education staff
We want children and young people in Surrey to have their voices heard. Education is a big part of their lives. It’s important that pupils can share their views and be listened to in school, college or other education settings. Pupil voice helps young people build personal and social skills to support their development.
As a team, we’ve seen first-hand how powerful youth participation can be. A great example is the first episode of our Surrey Youth Voice podcast, Beyond the Bench. This group of young people share how girls and young women across Surrey, are shaping their communities. They talk about influencing real decisions, stepping into leadership with confidence and courage.
We’re here to help you develop a Surrey Healthy Schools Approach. Your pupils experience school every single day. They know what’s working, what’s not, and what would help them thrive. When we truly listen to their voices and act on what they tell us, we create schools that are healthier, safer, and more positive for everyone.
If you’d like to explore how we can support your school on this journey of participation, watch the video below.
The flyer also explains how we can support you.
