Buckinghamshire and Surrey Trading Standards is an award-winning service and considered to be one of the leading authorities to work in. We are an innovative service and following an internal restructure we have a number of exciting career opportunities available.
We are based in two locations, one at Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire and the other at Redhill in Surrey. We have three teams which are Business, Protection and Regulation who all work across both locations.
Our Trading Standards service exists to:
- protect individuals, communities and businesses from harm and financial loss
- help business to thrive by maintaining a Fair Trading environment
- improve the health and wellbeing of people and communities
- fulfil the our statutory responsibilities to deliver consumer and public protection services across Buckinghamshire and Surrey
What careers are available?
We have positions available in all of our teams.
In our Business and Protection teams we have Senior Trading Standards Officer opportunities. These roles are ideal for qualified and experienced officers who are seeking to continue their careers and use their breadth and wealth of knowledge and experience in exciting new ways.
In all three teams we have Trading Standards Officer opportunities. These roles are suited to officers who have begun their career journeys within the Trading Standards profession and are seeking to continue their development. These roles may be appropriate for colleagues from other disciplines, including other regulators such as the RSPCA, the Police or HMRC for example, or from social services.
We have a variety of administrative roles to support our professional colleagues across the teams and an opening for a trainee who will be new to the Trading Standards profession. Beginning their career journey with us they will be fully supported throughout their development. We are also able to offer the newly created Regulatory Compliance Officer Apprentice as an alternative way to begin a regulatory career with us.
