Important information

We are currently experiencing a high level of staff sickness across the service. This has severely impacted the number of notice appointments we are able to offer.

Please consider deferring your notice until later in the year if your ceremony is more than three months away.

Outdoor weddings: From 1 July 2021, civil marriages and civil partnerships can be held at Approved Premises wedding venue in the room(s) within the built premises which are approved and also at linked outdoor areas within the boundaries of the land on which the built premises stand, provided that certain conditions are met. Please consult with your venue directly to find out if they can offer an outdoor ceremony. Outdoor ceremonies cannot take place at venues that do not hold an approved premises licence. For more detailed information please visit marriage and civil partnership ceremonies during the coronavirus outbreak.

Outdoor ceremonies will not be available at the Surrey Register Offices.
