Surrey County Council Local Committee in Runnymede

The Thames at Runnymede is famous throughout the world for the signing of the Magna Carta

Surrey County Council's Local Committee (Runnymede) is one of eleven established by Surrey County Council in April 2002 to bring local government into the heart of the community. The committee meets three or four times per year. The committee welcomes all Runnymede residents to come along and hear the topics on discussion.

The local committee in Runnymede is made up of six county councillors, representing each of the divisions within the borough and six Borough Councillors. They discuss issues such as education, young people, highways and transport.

The local committee is keen to support activities and groups that can make a difference to local communities through its County Councillors' local member allocation fund.
