The Local Committee in Mole Valley is one of eleven established by Surrey County Council in April 2002 to bring its decision making closer to the local community it serves and to give both communities and individuals a bigger say over decisions affecting them.
It has a range of functions including monitoring performance and recommending improvements to services for education, social care, young people, libraries and transportation. Working together with key partners in Police, the Primary Care Trust and the District Council, it helps organisations work more closely together at a local level.
Local voluntary organisations and projects throughout Mole Valley have benefited from revenue funding in excess of £500,000 through the Local Allocation Fund to enhance the lives of Mole Valley residents. The Committee has also supported capital projects with over £210,000 of funding.
If you want to influence the work of the Local Committee and are a resident or business in Mole Valley, you can attend the meetings and ask a question or present a petition. You can also access agenda and report papers online 5 days before the meeting. A copy can also be viewed at your local Library and the Leatherhead Help Shop.
