Biodiversity - the variety of life on Earth. It is all the species on our planet - from the smallest microbe to the largest tree - and how they interact with one another.

The Surrey Biodiversity Action Plan (BAP)

This was drawn up in response to the 1994 UK Biodiversity Action Plan. It identifies the actions needed to conserve the wildlife of Surrey. It draws together conservation bodies, landowners, local authorities, businesses, local communities and everyone interested in wildlife towards the achievement of the actions of the BAP.

Urban Biodiversity Action Plan

The Urban Biodiversity Action Plan for Surrey aims to safeguard and enhance the biodiversity found where people live and in doing so improve the quality of peoples lives through contact with, appreciation of, and involvement in nature conservation.

Urban Biodiversity Project - wildlife on your doorstep

The Surrey Urban Biodiversity Project was set up in 2001 to implement and monitor the actions of the Surrey Urban Biodiversity Action Plan.

The Project received a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) to allow habitat management, access and interpretation work to be carried out at 5 sites in Surrey.
