The YOF and YCF fund
£1 million of funding is now available for young people between June 2008 and February 2009
Surrey young people have been given just over £1 million this year by central government through the Youth Opportunities Fund (YOF) and Youth Capital Fund (YCF).This amount of money is divided equally between 11 YOF/YCF Borough Youth Award Panels. Each Borough panel allocates grants to projects led by their peers who are active in their community and wish to improve the quality of life for young people.
Surrey young people spend the grants on improving the things to do and places to go, improving their health and safety and making a positive contribution in their community. The funds are for all young people aged 13-19 (up to 25 years for young people identified with special needs) but the focus is on young people who are considered “disadvantaged” and have difficulty in participation.
