Perpetrators of domestic abuse

Help, advice and information is available:

  • Respect is the national association for professionals working with people to end their abusive behaviour. Our key focus is on increasing the safety of those experiencing domestic violence through promoting effective interventions with perpetrators.Their telephone number is: 0845 122 8609 is an information and advice line for people who are concerned about their abusive and/or violent behaviour towards their partners.
  • Alternatives to Violence Project organises workshops which empower people to lead non-violent lives, based on respecting and caring for ourselves and others.
  • Everyman Project aims to help men to change their violent or abusive behaviour with respect and dignity for every man, every woman and every child.
  • Integrated Domestic Abuse Programme (IDAP) is a national programme run by local probation areas for offenders convicted of domestic abuse related offences. Only offenders sentenced with an 'IDAP' requirement by the courts can undertake the nine module programme.
