What is telecare?

Telecare is a 24-hour service using simple equipment to help potentially vulnerable people live more independently in their homes. The basic kit consists of a telecare unit together with a pendant for the user to wear aimed at providing quality services with a high standard of customer care, giving peace of mind to individuals and their families.

The unit is linked to a care centre by the telephone line and can be activated by either pressing the button on the pendant or remotely via another telecare sensor, for example, smoke alarms, fall detectors or pill dispensers.

*New Telecare free trial offer*

Surrey Telecare is offering a fantastic opportunity for residents of Surrey to trial telecare sensors free of cost, in order to shape and personalise the service to individual needs and support living at home. For eligible residents, the telecare offer involves a free 12 week trial for the community alarm and sensor. For those residents who may already have a community alarm in place, telecare sensors will be provided at no extra cost at any time, if they will be of benefit to the individual. What a simple solution to keep someone living alone safe and independent while giving peace of mind to families!

What sensors are included in the offer?

All the devices listed below link to the community alarm system, are included in the trial and raise an alarm in the 24-hour care centre. There is a range of telecare sensors that may be offered free of charge under this new offer as can be seen below:
