Since 16 November 2011, Deaf Services has become an independent company under the new name FirstPoint: Hard of Hearing, Deaf and Interpreting Services, part of the pilot Social Work Practice (SWP) under Department of Health. FirstPoint CIC is a fresh specialist approach to access for Hard of Hearing and Deaf people, by providing support in communication and social care, and promoting opportunities in Surrey.
