Surrey Waste Plan

On 5 March 2009, Mr Justice Collins handed down his judgment on the High Court challenge of the Capel Parish Council to the inclusion of Clockhouse Brickworks in the Surrey Waste Plan. He has deleted Clockhouse Brickworks from Policies WD2 and WD5, but made no other changes to the Plan. His judgment can be accessed via the following link.

Adoption

The Surrey Waste Plan was adopted by Surrey County Council at its meeting of 6 May 2008.
The Adoption Statement can be seen under waste plan adoption.

The Council is required to provide a document showing how sustainability was taken into account in the production of the Plan and this is now available on the Sustainability Appraisal page.

Technical documents

There are a large number of documents in connection with the Waste Plan, and a list of the documents can be found online. The technical work on the Waste Plan was undertaken on Surrey County Council's behalf by ERM consulting services.

Consultations

Extensive consultation took place between May 2004 and January 2007 and each of these consultations is listed on the Consultation page.

The consultations were conducted in accordance with Surrey Statement of Community Involvement after its adoption in July 2006.

The consultation work on the Waste Plan was undertaken on Surrey County Council's behalf by Dialogue by Design.
