Apply for or renew a Blue Badge online

To apply or renew, you can now do this online and will need to provide:

  • your National Insurance number (or if you are applying for a child, the Child Benefit reference number)
  • your driving licence number (if you have one)
  • a passport type photo, which can be uploaded and must be:
    • in colour
    • in .JPG or .GIF format
    • no larger than 200 KB
    • the same aspect ratio as a passport photo - where the height is 4.5cm and width 3.5cm
  • Details of your current badge the number, expiry date and local authority details, if you have one.

You can now pay online using the new secure payment facility.  (A payment will only be taken if your application is approved). Once you have completed your online application you will receive an email with further instructions.  For example where to send your additional information.

First check your eligibility  by entering your postcode this will also check which local authority will administer your application. 

Apply online for a Blue Badge on the Gov.uk website

Once we have received your application we will get in touch if we need any more information or if we decide that you need a walking assessment.  We will contact you to let you know if your application has not been successful.  You can check the status of your application online. 

If your application is successful you will receive a blue badge along with a blue parking clock and a rights and responsibilities booklet.
