We are currently working on detailed lorry routeing maps for the county, which will include maps for each of Surrey’s 11 boroughs and districts.

These maps will include:

• roads suitable for ‘through’ and local freight traffic;
• Weight, width and height restrictions; and
• Industrial / trading estates.
  

So far we have produced a county map for through freight traffic movement i.e. journeys not starting or ending in Surrey. This is available to download below.

Satellite navigation (sat nav) systems

We will use our lorry routeing maps to help Ordnance Survey produce better freight mapping for the UK. As satellite navigation companies use Ordnance Survey mapping, it should result in more accurate sat nav systems for freight traffic, and may reduce the number of freight vehicles travelling on unsuitable roads.
