Bus student fare card application form

Applications must be sent with a photograph and a cheque or postal order to the Student Fare Card Team. Cash will not be accepted under any circumstances. Cheques and postal orders should be made payable to Surrey County Council. Discounts of £12.50 are available for students who meet the criteria below;

Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA)

For students who are applying and receive Education Maintenance Allowance payment of at least £20 a week, please enclose a photocopy of your valid Notice of Entitlement as original documents will not be returned.

16-19 bursary

For students who are applying and receive the guaranteed bursary (for students in care, care leavers and those on income support), please enclose a photocopy of your entitlement from you college.

Other qualifying criteria

For Students applying and whose family is in receipt of the maximum Working Tax Credit or one of the following benefits:

  • Income Support
  • Income Based Jobseeker's Allowance (IBJSA)
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Child Tax Credit, provided they are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual income (as assessed by Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs) that does not exceed £16,190
  • Financial support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • Guarantee element of State Pension Credit

Please enclose a photocopy of your tax credits award notices and paperwork as original documents will not be returned.

Applications that do not have all sections completed or do not have all items listed above will be returned. Surrey County Council accepts no responsibility for cash sent through the post.
